Hailing from South Carolina, Leah Misano is a freelance dance and movement artist based out of Cambridge. Having graduated from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee in 2021, she has found an artistic home in the Boston area. Throughout her dance life, Leah has been a part of several new creations including that of Rauf “Rubberlegz” Yasit, Emilie Leriche, NIcole von Arx, Loni Landon, and several others. Coming from a strong ballet foundation, Leah finds herself most interested in the cross section between traditional Western concert dance and street dance: adopting ideas about flow from Latin American contemporary dance and methodology from breakers and hip hop artists and layering it with her own movement experience.
